Math Journeys 2011 – Day 14

Math Journeys 2011 came to an end yesterday. We had a HUGE turnout for parent day! Thanks so much for all the support. It’s sad to see our school come to an end this year. We are already looking forward and are beginning to plan for next summer. Before school started, the Journeys team came up with the following four long-term goals for the summer:

  1. Students will be able to express themselves verbally and in writing.
  2. Students will develop resilience and perseverance to better face difficult tasks.
  3. Students will have confidence in themselves and their abilities.
  4. Students will be intrinsically motivated to discover and explore new ideas.

The staff took some time yesterday after school let out to reflect on these goals. We are proud to say that each teacher saw these goals being met by students in their classrooms. We are so proud of how hard each child worked this summer. We hope that their experiences at Math Journeys will give them a boost mathematically and socially as they enter Middle School next month! Have a great rest of the summer!
